Over the years I have created and maintained several web sites for work, friends, and freelancing. Below is a list of web sites as well as a brief description on what work I did/do for each.
My Second Website
Well in 2010 this website looked good??? LOL By today's standards, however, not so much. I still keep the site around to remind myself how far I have come as a web developer. And also to enjoy a good laugh. Click here to have a good LOL.
National University Polytechnic Institute
So nupolytech.org was not meant to be a website at all, but it became so much more in 2012. I used nupolytech.org to establish the first blog for the National University System. Because of my efforts, the microsite grew into a fully funtioning WordPress website complete with internal search and a full suite of social media properities to match.
Washington Spa Alliance (WSPA)
I designed the entire user flows, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) for the entire WSPA website. In addition, I wrote the majority of the content, architecting the content design and developing the copy for almost everything but the blog and press releases. All of this was built into a WordPress template so the other team members could easily add their blog or PR content when required. Explore the WSPA sight here .
Verizon Online Support
As a Content Writer, I was responsible for writing canned responses for email and click to chat customer service representatives at the Verizon eCenter. In addition to these duties, I also helped the Verizon eSupport Team update knowledge base articles for the Verizon Online Support site. Making sure that the articles were up to date with the latest operating systems (i.e. Windows XP, Vista, 7) and that the latest set top boxes were cared for with proper documentation were among some of the duties that I performed. For a sample of some of the work that I created for Verizon please visit the Web Content section of the site.
Verizon Community
On August 1, 2008 the first technical support forums were born on the Verizon domain http://forums.verizon.com . As time went on, Verizon Wireless joined the boards March 12, 2009, and thus the Community was born. Blogs were first added to the Community on July 17, 2009, further fueling the richness and strength of the Community. I am VERY proud to say that I was a part of this project and have become an expert in social media as a result of this endeavor. Oh and I also designed and drafted most of the look and feel, as well as the copy, for the majority of the site.
Provide Commerce
I worked for Provide Commerce for 7 3/4 years maintaining many of the Provide Commerce web sites, updating the corporate intranet, optimizing product images for web use, creating HTML emails, supporting in the development of banner production, and helping out wherever else needed. The sites include, ProFlowers , Cherry Moon Farms , Secret Spoon , Uptown Prime , Martha Stewart Flowers , and various other sites coded in either ColdFusion, ASP, or ASP.net. I am proficient in Cold Fusion Markup Language (CFML), XML, DHTML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ASP and ASP.NET.
TwoCool.biz
TwoCool.biz was a freelancing assignment that challenged my JavaScript skills and, in the end, made me realize just how enjoyable JavaScript can be. I was originally given the lay out for the site, but had to put in all the back end functionality as well as optimize all the images for web use. The JavaScript Rollovers on the homepage were the most challenging part of the web site, but also the most rewarding.
Zabalegui.net
When my friend got married my wedding gift to her was Zabalegui.net . Instead of sending endless updates to all her friends and family, all wedding guests needed to do was navigate to the Zabalegui.net pages and find all the information they needed. This web site took about a week to build. All the content was provided by my friend ahead of time, however, the look, feel, and navigation was mostly of my design.
My First Website
Well... wwwwwwaaaayyyy back in 1999 this looked super duper awesome! LOL Don't judge! Click here to enjoy the throwback.
